No
I'm saying no more and more. No to more features, no to bad coding practices, no to isolated long term projects.
Technology enables us to produce more. Businesses have been taking advantage of this, and the needs have rapidly grown. Companies develop large systems without second thoughts. Maybe these monstrous systems are faster to develop at first, but they are complex to maintain if someone didn't say no enough during the project.
Say no to manual testing, say no to working on features before technical tasks, say no manual deployments. Say no in design meetings, say no when you plan, say no when you do your code reviews.
Saying no and advising for better software practices is our responsibility and will make our job a lot more enjoyable.
