I am now a software architect.

This puts me in the most critical role in the success of software projects. I have the leverage to guide clients, project management and developers alike. They will consult me, and I have to help them succeed.

The more I do projects, the more I see the need for great technical leadership. The ultimate goal of answering the business needs faster and at a lower cost needs a good technical leader. You can't do continuous integration, DevOps or even agile without someone who truly understands what it takes to implement them. A modern software architect has the responsibility of guiding the team to achieve modern software development practice.

I better not screw it up :)
