Spaced Repetition

There's too much information to digest and not enough memory to contain it. I read many books and articles from blogs, Reddit and Hacker News, and I feel overwhelmed with all that information.

I try to digest as much information as possible and highlight the critical parts so that my brain is not full of unnecessary information. But even then, after a while, my brain will eventually discard what I learned.

I recently found out about a service called Readwise. You import highlights from all your reading services into their platform, and they feed you your notes once a day.

They call it spaced repetition. I think it's genius. Like you do your programming katas, now you can apply the same method for theory learning.

Reading your highlights plunges you back to those illuminating moments when unique ideas clicked in your head, and make sure you think about them in light of the experience you acquired since then.
